Update – 23 July 2021
Welborne presents a great opportunity to contribute to the region’s economic recovery through the delivery of jobs and homes within a thriving and sustainable new community. Significant progress has been made in recent months and this is reflected in our latest anticipated Welborne timeline.
We are looking forward with more certainty now as we edge closer to passing the milestones key to the delivery of our vision for Welborne. Essential to the start of activity on site will be:
- Signing the legal agreement (S106) between Fareham Borough Council, Hampshire County Council and Buckland Development Ltd: Now in its final stages, this agreement will detail the timings, triggers and delivery of every individual component of infrastructure for Welborne. Signing and finalisation is expected towards the end of Summer 2021.
- Securing funding for M27 Junction 10 upgrade: Hampshire County Council will be the Junction 10 Scheme Delivery Body. A combination of financial contributions from Welborne plus Government funding has been agreed and will now require approval from the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.
- Detailed planning applications: Non-motorway infrastructure and site preparation works will be needed – these will require separate planning applications. In addition we will be submitting details and Design Codes for Phase One in due course.
